So happy I found you. I love your posts. I admit that I fell into the same trap. I never gave much thought to MSM until the COVID mandates, especially when I was at the Trucker's Convoy (I'm from Canada) and witnessed the lies from MSM with my own eyes. It resulted in my need to re-evaluate everything I had ever read by the media through a different lens, and by extension all organizations in a position of authority. You simply cannot unsee. Now I see the outright manipulation from the media. Their goal is division. They are the enemy.

I too am someone who "left the left" a few years ago. Welcome to the club! There have been studies done on how well each side of the political spectrum understands the other side's position. In these studies, conservatives can fairly accurately "steel-man" the left's position but, as you point out, the left often has wildly inaccurate views of what conservatives believe. One of my favourite podcasters, Zuby (if you are not already familiar, you should look him up) has said that most of the racism he's experienced in recent years has been from the left--with their weird assumption that all black people think the same way. He feels as if they are infantilizing him and reducing him to little more than a stereotypical member of a group with a certain skin colour who must act and think in a certain way (which they have determined is the "correct" way for black people to think and act.)

Yup, same here. It was just axiomatic to me, Republican/conservative meant "rich, white, selfish, bigot". Only an "Uncle Tom" would align himself with that. I only wish I'd woken up to it sooner.

Funny enough, I'm a conservative/libertarian who's had enough of the right, too. Not a Trump fan, certainly not MAGA/QAnon material. But tired of the Trump cult. I started listening to progressive and centrist commentators and really enjoy hearing their perspectives. I've always believed people on both sides generally desire the same outcome, but differ on the path to get there. I can't really think that anymore about the extremes on either side (they're crazy), but those of us in the middle are so much more similar than different. I think both parties foment division and are working from the same playbook. I just wish we could REALLY elect independent candidates.

Do you think we’ll ever again have mainstream media we can rely on?

Appreciate your honest article. As a middle ground libertarian I tend to lean toward conservative voting. It’s hard for me to see why the very far left thinks that their policy’s are good for anyone and the very far right leaves a lot of middle ground beliefs no chances. We need balance, we need to understand others peoples viewpoints without condemnation and we need politicians that can find that balance. Thank you for being a step toward the balance.

"Removed nutrients"...Well said. Truth satisfies, builds confidence and stable decisions, nourishes the individual, the family, the business environment, and a civilized society.

I'm glad you discovered this...Many former leftists from Walkaway, etc., have also found this to be true. Congrats!

Very glad I clicked on the link from Real Clear Politics and just read this piece in the New York Post. Thank you for sharing your perspective. I will be sure to check out your other posts on Substack. Please keep getting the word out - open the eyes of one person at a time and eventually that momentum will build to the point that real change can occur!!

"We're being malnourished." By design. Good thing you recognized it, Adam. There are a lot of people that make their millions in the "Grievance Industry(TM)" and I am glad you are finally off their plantation.

I love this and it resonates so much, except that I’m a black woman instead of a man.

I'm so happy to hear that your experience overcame the media lies. My conservative cousin and I are the least racist people in my family of almost all liberals. At one family gathering when my cousin brought his then white girlfriend, he overheard our liberal cousins say, "Well, at least this one's white." Neither my cousin nor I had even thought about the race of his various girlfriends, but for the libs in the family, that was an important fact. It was the same with my son; I had no worry about what race the girl he would marry would be, and, in fact, he's not married to someone white and it's totally irrelevant IMO. I wish more minority people would talk to conservatives because most of us just want the government out of our private daily lives and race has nothing to do with our politics.
