It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 3 years since I first decided to write out my thoughts into a Word document for my future book. The original reason I decided to start writing was because I felt like my voice, and people who sound like me, were being ignored. The new normal wasn’t just about COVID but how we discussed race as well. Suddenly, everyone was supposed to believe statistical falsehoods and grab a hold of fear narratives that didn’t make sense.
Hey Adam, awesome to hear about the evolution of your writing! I’ll definitely pick up a copy of your book. I am curious about your take on families, I feel like family and especially parents are so critically important to the world by way of the children they are shaping into adults. Also, quick point, i think you meant “First amendment” in the article, hopefully the second amendment will not be necessary to protect free speech in my lifetime.
As a profession, journalism was at its best when its members were functional alcoholics with keen BS detectors who held ALL politicians to account. They would never have been caught dead fraternizing with the powerful.

I heard your discussion on Vivek R’s podcast- very candid and revealing discussions; I am a fan of Thomas Sowell; glad u are also; i am sure you have checked out the writings of Walter Williams as well.. now u r in the same class - an American speaking Truth to power and exercising your right to speak freely to everyone; I wish the media would see that it is their responsibility to represent the people and not the self anointed elite class; however they are too blind to see they have abdicated that responsibility for a seat at the self anointed elite table. Keep u the great work; I am a big fan of your work...

Adam, you are a true embodiment of the old school American dream, and incontrovertible proof that the dream is still possible for so many! Keep on being 100% yourself. People are drawn to those who are authentic.

You're right, of course. Part of the tribalism we're seeing derives from the feeling of helplessness and the desperate need people feel for a saviour (either an individual or a political party). When you point out the failures of Republicans, it appears to them that you're attacking the only source of support available to them, which (from their point of view) translates to "Give up, the cavalry is not on the way. You're on your own, and it won't be enough."
Republicans are better at articulating what ordinary people need, but rarely better at actually delivering. We need to hold our elected officials' feet to the fire, without regard to party affiliations or personal feelings, but it's difficult in the present climate where we are under attack from every possible source.
The failure to support the formation of strong families is the source of many, if not most, of our problems. The state has first helped to create the situation and is increasingly moving to forcibly remove children from their parents, both physically and ideologically. They are using every tool at their disposal, from early sexualization and pornography to political indoctrination, to insert a wedge between parent and child.
Families are rarely perfect, but it's critical to remember that, although their love may be imperfect, the love of the state is nonexistent.
