Adam, as usual you’ve articulated something I think many of us are going through. I was raised by activist Democrats and have always taken for granted that they are the “good guys”. The wool is off my eyes and I join you in this vote. Having taught in public schools for 30+ years, I’ve watched them taken over by this insidious, odious ideology- both CRT and gender ideology- all of it Marxist at its core. I’ve seen how it depletes children of hope and agency, while the perpetrators claim they’re saving them- especially kids of color. I see the kids succumbing to the toxic gender craze and I personally know kids who are now going through mutilation. It must be stopped.

Another huge reason for me is the wrong- headed energy policy the Dems are pushing. 100% renewables will lead to widespread poverty. It’s just not humane nor is it really sustainable.

Thank you again. Keep it up!

First of all, WELCOME HOME! My line was crossed a long time ago (getting conned and lied to by Obama I) but it’s very refreshing to hear that people like me are not alone. I was only 24 when I decided that I was no longer a Democrat but I would say I was pretty staunchly so. I voted for Kerry in 2004 and Obama in 2008, the only two presidential elections I was able to vote in before I made the jump. The red-pill is real…you’ll be shocked at how much it all opens up to you now, how the propaganda stops working and you see through everything so easily. You’ll quickly find that there’s a big difference between being awake and being “woke.” 💯

Thanks Adam. Life long NYC dem here, three kids. Pulled out of public school this year. Will be voting red down the line next week. NEVER in a million years would I think this is possible, but here I am. Living in the deep blue bubble of Brooklyn, it's hard to fully articulate all the ways in which I've felt betrayed by the Democratic Party, many of these things you summed up well. All I know is that the mama bear in me is alive and determined.

I am a Nigerian and live in Nigeria but follow American politics closer than 99.9% of Americans... because I know that when America sneezes, we catch Cold in Nigeria.

I have always marvelled about what was the hold of the Democratic party on Blacks. Apart from the emotional hold, there is really nothing that Blacks have in common with the Democratic Party. I do not any one policy of the Democrats that have been good for blacks. They have destroyed the Black Family, destroyed the black man, left a lot of black Children without fathers, destroyed the structures of the black society and thought blacks' victimhood and learned helplessness... and that was at their best. Now with all the woke ideology, the Democratic Party's Road only leads to earthly hell. Blacks have never really had anything in common with the Democratic Party. Now, they are a peril to blacks

You are 100% spot on Clare. It’s not about voting for Republicans necessarily, but AGAINST what the Dems have allowed themselves to become. I’m in agreement with Adam - I may never vote Dem again until every last one of the people who supported this insanity is gone. Their willingness to destroy the social fabric of this country and abandon their own principles was shocking. And almost nobody in political positions of power on their side stood up to them. And even now with the overwhelming unpopularity of their policies and ideology made apparent, there is zero self-reflection or attempts to apologize and listen to the people that were once their voter base at all. They just double down and accuse former supporters of not being pure enough. But I guess that’s the fatal flaw with Marxism. It’s a snake that ends up eating itself from the tail up. If we manage to restore equilibrium I hope we all remember this moment in time and never let this happen again.

Just WOW! You are right on point. There are so many issues that are critical in this election, but I agree with you children are the top priority. That alone is enough for everyone to vote Republican! Thank you for your courage, intelligence, and incredible articulation. Shine On!

Agree. No one seems to be asking why the Democratic party positions are repelling people. Instead we are supposed to keep believing that democracy is under an existential threat. Sorry, no. Cutting and Sterilizing children is more important? Absolutely not. I am not afraid to die on That Hill

I read your article on Reddit and wanted to cry and have now become a subscriber. I am living your nightmare. In addition to the many issues you articulated, I'll add that our insane promotion and the endless billions we are spending on the Ukraine war has me so frustrated I feel I have nowhere to turn but to the (slim but possible) hope that a Republican led Congress will turn off the spigot. I was a 35 year Democrat until the 2016 and 2020 elections...voted independent in both. I am now voting Republican in the midterms and 2024.

I was a lifelong Democrat and liberal too. I was redpilled around 11 years ago, when I was 45 and got engaged, once we comingled our finances and I saw just how much we had to lose thanks to Democrat tax-and-spend-and-give-it-all-away policies. Since then, I've only become more holistically conservative in my position, and I've never looked back.

Hoping you'll stay with us over here on the side of reason, rationale, God, family, and country. We welcome you, Adam! #walkaway

The political party you once supported is the same party that I, as a young conservative newspaper reporter, often enticed me to split my ballot when the Democrat candidate was better than the GOP candidate.

During my working life a reporter for fifteen years, and then as an entrepreneur I had voted mostly for GOP candidates, but I had also voted for a governor, two congressional candidates and a US senator, all of whom were Democrats.

In today's contentious world, Adam, I suspect your decision was much more difficult than were my decisions during the time when both parties in Maine were cordial towards one another.

Now many politicians in Maine are in lock step with the present day Democrat party.

Thank you Adam for sharing your journey of transition in terms of political affiliation.

Thank you Adam, once again, for your thoughtful, insightful, courageous article. I say courageous because there are so few who are willing to speak out the way that you do in such an intelligent, thought provoking way. Hopefully others who are on the fence will read what you say with an open mind and contemplate your words, taking in their importance. Keep sharing your gift!

All true, but I hate to break it to you, the Democrats have been like this forever. Population control/eugenics. Exploiting racial/ethnic divisions for votes. None of this is new. It's just hard to see it, until then you can't not see it.

Thank for a very real and well written article. Many of us have prayed for quite a while that more and more people would wake up to what is happening to our beloved America. I thank God every day that more and more people are beginning to see the truth. It's been a very painful process for me, for us, to see just how corrupt our government, big tech, corporations, schools, universities have become. There is hope. God will put the people that He has chosen into positions where He wants them to be - and that includes the rightful President, Donald J. Trump. Put your faith, hope and trust In Jesus. He truly is the answer. May God bless you in abundance and your family as well.
