Racism is alive and well among contemporary quasi-democrats. So is russophobia, xenophobia, antijewishness -- all despite the rhetorics of equity and inclusion. Sending best wishes of recuperation to you, and thanks for your work.

People who engage in name calling have nothing else with which to work. They have no reasonable arguments on which to call or logical points to make. This is why I routinely ignore anyone who routinely engages in ad hominem attacks. It's hard to do, especially when you are a public figure, like you are. You are becoming more and more well known, which is EXCELLENT. We need you in the fray, and we will all pray for your strength and courage.

Twitter is hell created by humans.

Thanks to social media, as a gay man, I became a "misogynist," a "likely rapist," "on my way to becoming a spree killer," "proof that gay men are the worst misogynists, even worse than straight violent men."

It’s evidence you’re over the target. It’s just words.

It's always smart to step away, at least for a little while, when all one's connection to the world brings negativity, even if only temporarily. Also "I want to use Twitter instead of letting Twitter use me" is probably my favorite quote of the year and one that I will probably deploy at some of the folks I know and love if they start edging a bit too close to crazy. Overall, this was all well said.

I disconnected from Twitter about 6 weeks ago. I'm much more peaceful and calm. I thought I'd miss it, but surprisingly, I don't! Hang in there, and do what you need to in order to maintain your equilibrium!

Alex Berenson just shared that Dr. Jay Bhattacharya has a new podcast. I have been watching him ever since he did Barrington Declaration. You can see he is a kind man, much like Dr. Fareed, Dr. Ladapo and Dr. Kheriaty. Kind men subject to derision and name calling for three years and all have been sharpened by the attacks. I put you in the same category of being honest ,yet kind, and you will come out that much better.

Adam, you make a difference at a time when it’s critical to fight back against irrational and harmful ideologies that are infecting the country.

Twitter is so toxic. So sorry you had to receive all that hate. Glad we have Substack for reasonable human interactions! Best wishes.

My pleasure... by the way, did you come across this piece on my Substack? You may enjoy it:

A version also appears on the FAIR Substack...

OMG. Definitely concur a stepback is deserved. Horrible situation. Twitter can be a ‘bloodsport’ arena, though sounds like recents attacks at you maybe co-ordinated/directed. Because your writing makes sense and strikes accord with many.

Remember that they are attacking your political avatar and who they think your avatar is representing.

Thoughtful, mindful, truthful people are rarely well appreciated by the masses or even those who may be close to you. This is clear when you look at social (or anti-social?) media. As the kids used to say, "haters gonna hate." As the old folks used to say, "garbage in, garbage out."

I have not had a social media account since 2013 & am a happier and more effective person because of it. Of course, I'm not invested in building "my brand" or trying to write nationally syndicated articles but it may be time to do an assessment of your social media activity and energy. What are the costs and benefits? How much time is it taking from other tasks or meaningful activities? What does your body feel like before and after you use social media. What are some new boundaries (besides taking breaks) to implement that may help you feel more in control of what you put into your mind?

What I love about Substack is that it is way more community focused, and I really enjoy listening/reading to your work here every week on this platform.

Keep doing what you’re doing. Most of us don’t have the talent or will to put ourselves out there like you do.

I'm sorry that you had to endure this. I find it almost unbelievable that people act like this (on both sides of every issue). It's a shame. My best to you, keep writing. Sincerely, Frederick

I’m so sorry to hear you experienced those mean comments, Adam. It’s brave to speak up the way you do. I know I personally would never put myself out there on the internet. It just opens one up to all kinds of needless noise from losers who would otherwise never be permitted into your life. In the meantime, I do wish you the best and I always take the time to read one of your columns when they appear in the Post or Newsweek. If I was in your place, I’d keep on writing, keep on posting……just stay the hell away from those damn comments. I believe most of them are bots anyway!
